Acer recently made waves in the tech community following the launch of the Predator 21 X, a powerful laptop that sports several top of the line components. Aside from the high-end hardware lurking under the Predator 21 X's hood, what really caught the attention of many is the laptop's curved screen design, a first for a laptop.

The Acer Predator 21 X is hailed as the first laptop to sport a curved screen. Its 21-inch curved IPS display supports 2560 x 1080 resolution. The display also promises wide color gamut with a generous viewing angle. Such impressive specs can essentially deliver a truly immersive gaming experience.

Aside from the curved display, the Acer Predator 21 X is also a monster in terms of hardware specs. Powering the laptop is a seventh generation Intel Kaby Lake processor. The Kaby Lake processor, although still using the 14-nm architecture, promises high end compute performance. Acer has yet to confirm which exact processor will power the Predator 21 X, although rumors claim that it should pick the 15-watt U versions rather than the mobile oriented 4.5-watt Y chips.

Handling the graphics is the dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards in SLI configuration. The cards also support Nvidia FreeSync technology and with these powerful cards powering the laptop, it should be able to support high-end virtual reality headsets.

According to The Verge, the Acer Predator 21 X weighs in at eight kilograms. For some, the weight is just a trade off for the laptop's extreme specs.

For some, these high-end specs would mean excessive heat management problems. That is why Acer equipped the Predator 21 X with five cooling fans, there of which are super-slim metal AeroBlade fans that should be able to handle the heat management despite the laptop's tightly packed build.

According to PC World ,the Acer Predator 21 X is primary billed as a gaming rig, which is why it is equipped with full-size Cherry MX mechanical keyboard. Each key has its own RGB backlight which can be individually configured. The numeric keypad can also be flipped over to turn it into a touch pad.

An Acer spokesperson broadly promised that he Predator 21 X will be released by the first quarter of 2017. Regarding its price, no one really knows for sure.
