Pokémon Go introduced new features under its 1.5.0 version update. The new version comes with 'Pokémon Appraisal' feature which offers tips regarding each Pokémon's attack and defense capabilities. The new feature will help the players make better strategies.
Appraisal feature is powerful but is a little difficult to find. According to BGR, once the app has been updated, the player needs to open the Pokémon menu. For appraisal, tap on the concerned Pokémon and then on the circular menu button. This brings up three options of Favorite, Appraise and Transfer. Tapping on 'Appraise' activates the team leader for detailed report.
Pokémon Go has gone through several updates but most of these dealt with bugs and other such issues. The latest update bucks the trend to bring new features onboard. According to Macrumors, Pokémon Go is facing constant decline in its popularity. This new feature is likely to stem the rate of decline for the game.
Appraisal feature is expected to be especially useful for new players, who are not well acquainted with the features of various Pokémon. The trainers will get advice from their team leaders including Blanche, Candela or Spark. With full knowledge about the capabilities of different Pokémon, trainers will be able to utilize the best ones under the given circumstances.
Niantic will also be making other improvements. The update fixed a bug which was responsible for keeping defeated Pokémon at 1HP. Under the new version, defeated Pokémon will be kept as fainted figures. Upcoming versions are expected to rebalance the training battles.
