'Lucifer' Season 2 News, Updates: 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' actress joins Season 2 as a former Playmate with a secret

"Lucifer" has added "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alum Charisma Carpenter to its expanding Season 2 cast. Carpenter announced her guest starring gig on the FOX series in one of her social media accounts on Wednesday.

According to TV Line, Carpenter has been tapped to play a former Playmate named Jamie Lee Adrienne on "Lucifer" Season 2. Described as someone with a lot of party years on her, Jamie is married to a once-successful action star. However, her behavior hints sadness and pain, as if she is hiding a secret.

The actress, who recently appeared on "Scream Queens" and "Chicago PD," has announced her participation on Lucifer Season 2 via Twitter on Wednesday. The tweet included a photo of an actor's chair with the logo of the series with the hashtag "Hell's never been this fun." Carpenter is slated to appear in the fifth installment of the new season.

"Raising a little hell myself," the actress said.

Carpenter joins previously cast Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) as the angel Uriel, Aimee Garcia (Dexter) as new forensic scientist Ella Lopez and Tricia Helfer (Suits) as Lucifer's mother from hell. The trio joins original cast members of "Lucifer" Season 2 which include Tom Ellis, Lauren German and DB Woodside among others. Created and executive produced by Tom Kapinos, "Lucifer" is based from DC Entertainment's Vertigo, which follows the life of Lucifer after he resigned from his throne and moves to Los Angeles to punish criminals. Season 2 premieres on Monday, Sept. 19 at 9PM on FOX.
