Warner Bros. confirmed that Katie Cassidy has signed a contract to make regular appearances across all of DC's shared universe. She will be making appearances on "Arrow," "Legends of Tomorrow" and " The Flash." She follows a similar deal with that of Wentworth Miller a.k.a Captain Cold and John Barrowman a.k.a Malcolm Merlyn.

In the comic Universe, death is not really ultimate. Despite Laurel Lance, a.k.a Black Canary, was killed in "Arrow" Season 4, executive producer Wendy Mericle announced during the San Diego Comic-Con that her character would not be gone from the universe. Collider reported that Cassidy will be appearing in the first episode of "Arrow" Season 5. The episode will also reveal what Laurel made Oliver promise in her deathbed. The promise is said to be critical and will impact the entire season.

It is still unclear though if she will return as the Black Canary or her earth two doppelganger, Black Siren (or both). The nature of her appearance could either be through a flashback time-travel, alternate realities or a combination of all. With the Flashpoint storyline, it is very easy to tweak the elements of the show.

Meanwhile, TV Line reported that Miller, who transitioned from "The Flash" to "Legends of Tomorrow," is set to play a big role in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. His character, Captain Cold, was also killed off but like Cassidy, he will be returning. Together with Barrowman's character, they will form the Legion of Doom with Neal McDonough a.k.a Damien Darhk and Matt Letscher a.k.a Reverse-Flash. Could Cassidy be part of this new group of villain?
