CW is making a lot of changes in "Supergirl" Season 2, which includes adding more characters to the show. Following the news of adding Superman played b Tyler Hoechlin, it is now confirmed that Floriana Lima will be joining the series to play the role of Maggie Sawyer. A new editor-in-chief is also said to take over Cat Co by the name of Snapper Carr.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lima's character in "Supergirl" Season 2 will be a detective working for the National City Police Department, who's interested in taking on cases involving aliens. Her character appeared in several "Smallville" episodes played by actress Jill Reed. The comic version of Maggie was a skilled member of the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit, who specifically dealt with metahumans.

Since Maggie is a lesbian in the "Superman" comics, CW will retain her gay status in the upcoming "Supergirl" Season 2.

Meanwhile, Snapper Carr, who will be played by "Cougar Town's" fame Ian Gomez, will take over Cat Co as the new editor-in-chief in "Supergirl" Season 2. Carr is known to be a Justice League character that has been taking on various roles in different adaptations. Just like the cartoon version, Carr will take on the role of a headstrong reporter in "Supergirl" Season 2.

Given Gomez role, the question now is what happens to Cat Grant? According to News Fix, the actress who plays Cat, Calista Flockhart, will have limited screen time since they have moved the production to Vancouver. As of to date, there have been no follow up news regarding the rumors, as well as to what extent Flockhart would appear in "Supergirl" Season 2.
