'Kabali' release date: Rajinikanth's gangster drama likely to hit screens on July 21? [VIDEO]

Makers of superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited gangster drama "Kabali" are planning to release the movie in the third week of July.

Earlier, there were lots of speculations over the release date of Rajinikanth's upcoming movie "Kabali." However, the makers finally decided to release the film in the third week of July. "Kabali," which was earlier said to be released on July 15, is likely to hit the screens on July 21 though no official confirmation yet was released on this regard.

"The film is yet to be certified, but even before that contests and release dates are being announced. It is against the rules. We can only decide on the release date only after the film is officially certified," The Hindu newspaper quoted a source linked with "Kabali" production house.

The teaser of the movie stormed the internet and garnered over 20 million views on YouTube, becoming most watched teaser in the history of film industry. The one minute and six seconds video got a record of 10 million views within three days of its release on YouTube.

Radhika Apte, who will be romancing 65-year-old Rajinikanth in the movie, believes that nobody can replace Rajinikanth, as he is the best in the business. "He is extremely simple, humble and hardworking. He is a gem of a person. Very inspiring," she said in a recent interview with Indian Express newspaper.

The movie, which also stars Attakathi Dinesh, John Vijay, Dhanika, Koshire, Roshan, Nassar and Winston Cho along with Rajinikanth and Adhika Apte, has been predominately shot in foreign locations, including Malaysia. "Kabali" is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under V Creations' banner.
