Two new actresses are boarding Julie Plec's vampire dramas this coming fall and winter season.

Kristen Gutoskie and Christina Moses have landed recurring roles on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, respectively. The duo was also part of Plec's recently canceled series, Containment.

According to the casting report, Gutoskie will portray the role of Seline in the upcoming eight season oF The Vampire Diaries. The character seems to have no link or any connections to the Salvatore clan. Seline is described as a "warm, nurturing nanny of two young kids by day, and a small-town girl trying to find her place in a dangerous world by night."

Viewers will find Seline bonded to her new family, but in ways she can not explain. She also has a protective instinct for everyone she loves.

With the arrival of Seline on Mystic Falls, fans have to wait to find out whether or not her character is connected to last season's new monstrous villain introduced in the finale.

"We are not calling it anything, we are waiting for Season 8," showrunner Julie Plec told TV Line about the show's new Big Bad."I mean, internally, we're calling it something, but we're not telling people what that is yet."

Moses' character meanwhile, has strong ties to the Mikaelsons - but not in a familiar way. Moses character, Keelin, is described as "a smart, strong, resourceful ER doctor - and the last living werewolf of her line."

Part of Keelin's backstory indicates that the rest of her family was hunted to extinction, pushing her to hide and avoid intimacy. While this is the case, viewers will know that Keelin is also bisexual, warm and unguarded by nature.

However, she lives in a cloud of fear of being discovered by their enemies and unfortunately, has no clue that she is currently on a collision course with the Mikaelsons.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 debuts on Friday, Oct. 21 and The Originals will return midseason on the CW.
