Constance Wu of 'Fresh Off The Boat' talk about life's similarity and Hollywood

Asian-American actress Constance Wu of "Fresh Off the Boat" talks about her experience in Hollywood, and the things that she goes through in life just like any normal person. Said sitcom also garners a great following given its realistic storyline.

For those who may not be so familiar of the show, "Fresh Off the Boat" is about a Taiwanese family that moves from Washington D.C. to Orlando, Florida to open up a restaurant. It is the first Asian-American TV show that is being led by and Asian-American family in over 20 years, thus it does create a big impression against racism and pre-judgment all over the world. Now actress Constance Wu who stars on the show talks about his portrayal in the iconic Asian-American sitcom. According to ABC News, Constance feels that when she got the lead role, more people were making a big deal out of it than she does. Thus, she started to internalize her whole life.

She is a Taiwanese-American and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. Reports say that according to the actress, many people fail to differentiate the Asian experience and the Asian-American experience. They have been differentiated by stories and she is glad that she is able to share that kind of experience with the show, "Fresh Off the Boat" and able to tell a tale of what reality is for people like her. More times than not, they are being judged for belonging to an Asian culture.

"Fresh Off the Boat" was written by Nahnatchka Khan who is also the show's executive producer. Other executive producers are Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar, as reported by Broadway World.

The upcoming episode of the "Fresh Off The Boat" will be entitled "Driving Miss Jenny" is going to air on April 11, Tuesday.
