One-Punch Man is an adaptation of a manga by EyeShield 21 creator Yusuke Murata and webcomic hit by ONE. The story is all about a normal-looking adolescent man Saitama, who unexplainably possesses incredible power. He gains the notoriety as One-Punch Man because he tends to kill monsters usually with just one punch.

Saitama initially considered rescuing people and killing monster as a hobby, although things changed when he met the cyborg Genus and joined the Heroes' Association, which compensates heroes based on their rankings.

The first season began from October 5. 2015 to December 21 on TV Tokyo and it consists of 12 episodes. It was also streamed on Niconico and simulcast on Hulu, Daisuki, and Viz Media's Neon Alley service. Viz Media owns the exclusive distributing rights of One-Punch Man anime in North America.

On the other hand, the manga also racked up pretty big numbers over the last two years with 11.1 million copies in print by November 2016.
