This week's "Bates Motel" came as a shocker, firstly, the introduction of Rihanna's character in the form of Marion Cane from "Psycho," secondly, Norman's shocking sexual revelation. "Bates Motel" Season 5, episode 6 has aired on Mar. 21.

Executive producers of the show Kerry Erhin and Carlton Cuse spoke with TVLine about "Bates Motel" Season 5, episode 6.

During episode 6, it is revealed that Norman has been having sex with several men. Ehrin talked about the decision to unveil this aspect of the character's sexuality.

"We've always been driven by character. It really came from getting inside the head of Mother, who at the end of [last week's episode] was basically broken up with by her son. Norman says, "This isn't really working for me" in so many words. She's devoted everything to this guy and she's pissed. So she's like, "F-k this. I'm going to go out and throw back a few." And, you know, the guy [at the bar] was cute. She's attracted to him, and they end up in a car... It came from a really human place. Clearly, Norman's sexuality is all over the place. It's not super defined. It made sense to us that this would've happened with him - many times, probably," Ehrin said.

They are also asked if White Horse Bar was meant to be a gay bar, Ehrin revealed that it certainly have that edgy vibe but not scary at all. People at the White House Bar are chilled out and cool about others. Ehrin added that it is an open minded bar.
