Nuggets sent Jusuf Nurkic to the Blazers; The Blazers sent Mason Plumlee

The Portland Trail Blazers has just traded Mason Plumlee to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Jusuf Nurkic and future first-round pick. Both Nurkic and Plumlee are expected to play on their new teams this week.

The Denver Nuggets officially announced the trade with the Portland Trail Blazers Monday night. They just completed a good deal with the Blazers as they acquire one of the best rebounders in the league, Mason Plumlee.

Aside from Plumlee, as per the Slam Online, the Nuggets also received a second-round pick along with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Nuggets have dealt the Bosnian Beast Jusuf Nurkic as they are now utilizing their new potential star center Nikola Jokic.

The gold medalist Mason Plumlee is expected to come off the bench as he will be a backup center to Nikola Jokic. Drafted 22nd by the Brooklyn Nets, Plumlee had a great 2 seasons before being traded to the Blazers.

Plumlee had a great season this year with the Blazers as he marks this year as his career season. Averaging about 11.1 points with 8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, Mason Plumlee simply defines how valuable he is.

On the other hand, the Blazers have received Jusuf Nurkic who has been a very productive bench player for the Nuggets. The Bosnian big man is averaging 8 points with consistent 5.8 rebounds per game while playing with a very limited time 17 minutes.

Jusuf Nurkic was drafted 16th overall by the Chicago Bulls last 2014, but was eventually dealt to the Nuggets during the draft night. Since then, Nurkic has been a good contributor, until the emergence of Nikola Jokic.

Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets are both battling their way for a Playoffs spot this season. The Blazers are still hanging in the 9th spot just right behind the Denver Nuggets, who are currently sitting on the 8th seed in the Western Conference as per the NBA.com.

The Denver has been on the NBA trade rumors as they try to upgrade their roster this season. Both teams have received an equal benefit from the recent trade, the players involved is expected to contribute well on their new teams.
