Huawei Honor V9 will be revealed a week before MWC 2017 with small improvement from previous series

The annual Mobile World Congress hosts some of the world's largest communications companies, with many unveiling their latest phones and wearables gadgets.

Huawei will launch its latest smartphone a week before the opening hour of Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona this February. The new Honor V9 which will be equipped with dual rear-camera and slight changes in design and specification.

According to GSM Arena, Huawei has released teaser image of its new Honor V9 which will be officially revealed on Feb. 21. The device is reported to have already passed the certification from Chinese telecommunication equipment center TENAA.

Honor V9 will have a slightly different feel than its previous version Honor V8 which was released May last year. In physical appearance, V9 is similar to V8 in screen size at 5.7” and dimension of 157 x 77.6 x 7.8 mm. According to Digital Trends, Huawei Honor V9 is almost identical with Honor V8 in appearance.

One of differences is in the battery capacity, which V9 have bigger battery capacity of 3900mAh than the V8 battery with 350mAh. Running Android 7.0 Nougat, the V9 is powered by d a 2.4GHz Kirin octa-core processor, made by Huawei itself. In some benchmark, the Huawei Kirin processor is able to surpass iPhone 7 processor.

Other distinctive factor is the V9 have a dual rear camera setup with 12MP+2MP resolution and 8MP camera at the front for taking selfie. In its rear body, just below the camera, a fingerprint sensor is provided..

Prior to the launching and Mobile World Congress 2017 event, the company invited media and analyst to a company briefing on Monday, Feb. 13. The media briefing will be held in two cities simultaneously, London and Beijing. In his invitation, Chief Strategy Marketing Officer of Huawei William Xu said the company’s senior executive will announce the significant strategies and solution for the years ahead.

In MWC 2017, Huawei will get back to focus on its core competence in telecommunication equipment. The company will introduce its innovative solution for telecom operators, enterprises and industries. In order to bring the attendance of MWC to their focus, Huawei decided to advance the launching of its latest smartphone Honor V9 before the MWC event.
