The Brooklyn Nets (9-38) will visit the Miami Heat (18-30) at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Jan. 30, Monday in a 2016-2017 NBA regular season match.

Brooklyn is on a five-game losing slide as the team remained in the cellar of the Eastern Conference standings. The team has now lost 16 of their last 17 matches as they are eight-and-a-half games behind the second-worst team in the East, the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Nets succumbed to a crushing 129-109 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in their most recent match last Saturday held on the road at the Target Center, as per Yahoo Sports.

Brook Lopez had 25 points on 10-for-15 field goal shooting, including a 3-for-6 stint beyond the arc, to top-score for head coach Kenny Atkinson in a losing effort. He also had seven rebounds and two blocked shots.

Starting point guard Spencer Dinwiddie added 13 points, four rebounds, and five assists while his backcourt partner, shooting guard Bojan Bogdanovic, contributed 10 points and two assists.

Three players scored in double figures coming off the bench, namely Sean Kilpatrick, Caris LeVert, and Isaiah Whitehead who had 14, 11, and, 10 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Miami is streaking right now with seven consecutive wins. The team has only climbed one spot up in the East, though, as they are still second from the last place in the Eastern Conference table.

The Heat is coming off a 116-103 thrashing of the Detroit Pistons also on their home floor of AmericanAirlines Arena on Saturday night, Sporting News reported.

Goran Dragic led the charge for head coach Erik Spoelstra's side with 23 points, two rebounds, and four assists. Dion Waiters added 17 points, three boards, and seven assists while Rodney McGruder had 12 points and three rebounds.

Hassan Whiteside grabbed 12 boards but only scored nine points on 4-for-9 shooting from the field.

Off the bench, Wayne Ellington and James Johnson played big with 19 and 18 points respectively with the latter also hauling down eight boards and dishing five assists.

Prediction 

The Nets are a dismal 2-21 on the road so far this season while the Heat is 10-13 at home. An eighth straight win for Miami is predicted.
