It already has been 15 years since the first "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" game was released, and now, Capcom has released a new trailer for "Great Ace Attorney 2" celebrating its 15th anniversary.

According to Attack of the Fanboythe next title for the Nintendo 3DS is "Great Ace Attorney 2", which is in development and Capcom decided to release a new trailer titled "Ace Attorney 15th Anniversary Special Courtroom" to celebrate the series' long lasting appeal.

Although the West has yet to get a release date, the possibility of getting a Western version is very likely. Let's not forget that the series has had releases of the classic "Ace Attorney Trilogy", as well as "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies" and most recently, "Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice" so we just have to wait and see when Capcom has any further announcements on the matter.

"Great Ace Attorney 2" takes us back to the Meiji period of Japan where players take the role of young Ryunosuke Naruhodo, a Japanese student who aspires to be a great detective. Joining in his adventures are renowned detective Sherlock Holmes and his young and perky yet intelligent assistant Iris Watson and Susato Mikotoba, Ryunosuke's friend and "judicial assistant." Together, they solve mysterious cases that come up in two worlds apart: the empires of Great Britain and Japan.

In the new trailer, we see Ryunosuke deep in thought during the trial, Sherlock and Iris chatting and Mikotoba looking worried for the protagonist. Towards the end of the clip, we see a mysterious character concealed in the shadows. Who could that be: a new prosecutor to tip the scales or an old favorite making an exclusive return? We'll find out more once the game releases.

Gematsu was also able to get the official overview of "Great Ace Attorney 2," explaining the mechanics of the game:

"'The Great Ace Attorney 2' uses the traditional, 'point out lies and contradictions to expose the truth' systems that the 'Ace Attorney' series is known for. The basics of these systems are the same. You'll advance the story by playing through 'Detective Parts' and 'Courtroom Parts.'

When an incident occurs, you'll investigate the crime scene and collect testimonies and evidence in 'Detective Parts,' then use the testimonies and evidence you gathered in that part as ammunition in your 'Courtroom Part' battle to expose the truth behind the case. The 'Joint Reasoning"' and 'Jury Battle' systems unique to 'The Great Ace Attorney' also appear in each part."

While we're still hoping for a Western release, "Great Ace Attorney 2" has still yet to have an official release date in Japan.
