Preview

Los Angeles is reeling right now with two-straight losses as the team has been playing without two of their Big Three players, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. The team was able to maintain their fourth-place position in the West despite the losses, but they now have the same record with the Utah Jazz.

Last week, Paul underwent a successful operation to repair his injured thumb and is expected to return after six to eight weeks. Griffin, on the other hand, is still sidelined by an injured knee since last month.

In their most recent game last Saturday, the undermanned Clippers were thrashed by the Denver Nuggets, 123-98, on the road at the Pepsi Center, as per Yahoo Sports.

Marreese Speights started alongside DeAndre Jordan in Doc Rivers' frontcourt and top-scored with 18 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Jordan had a double-double of 14 points and 13 boards with three assists.

Austin Rivers started in place of Paul and contributed 16 points, two rebounds, and five assists while JJ Redick had 14 points, three assists, and two steals at his usual shooting guard position.

Off the bench, backup point guard Raymond Felton chipped in 14 points, three boards, and three assists.

Meanwhile, the Hawks are on a roll, winning 11 of their last 13 matches to retain the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Their last game ended in a 110-93 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers also at their home court of Philips Arena on Saturday night, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Paul Millsap led head coach Mike Budenholzer's squad with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks as Kent Bazemore backed him up with 16 points, two boards, and two assists. Dennis Schroder chipped in 15 points, nine assists, and two steals while Dwight Howard was the fourth starter to score in double figures with 13 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists.

Prediction

The Clippers have a 12-9 road record so far this season while the Hawks are 13-8 at home. Los Angeles are highly disadvantaged without Paul and Griffin and so Atlanta is predicted to win this contest.
