‘Goblin’ cast bids farewell through letters; tvN drama hailed the highest beating ‘Reply 1988’

(Photo : YouTube/DramaFever) 'Goblin: The Lonely and Great God,' which stars Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, and Yoo In-na recently ended its run on tvN.

"Goblin's" main cast said their goodbyes through handwritten letters. Through the letters, the cast expressed their sweet messages of gratitude.

On Jan. 21, the tvN drama aired its finale episode where it clocked in a whopping 20.99 percent viewership rating in Seoul's metropolitan area and 18.68 percent viewership rating nationwide, beating the previous record holder "Reply 1988." Out of the cable channels, "Reply 1988's" last episode had an average rating of 18.80 percent, Allkpop reported.

And to celebrate the conclusion of their drama, Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Yoo In Na, and Yook Sungjae spent some time to write their sweet messages of gratitude. Playing as the goblin Kim Shin, the 37-year old actor quoted a popular line from the drama.

"Everyone has a moment in which a god stays by their side. It's been nice staying by your side. I love you... I've said that before. I'm glad that it's over! Or am I, I'm not so sure," as translated by Soompi. He then signed his note with "from Gong-blin."

Plagued by a painful fate in the drama, Lee thanked all the viewers who supported their drama and asked his fans to remember his character the "Grim Reaper" from "Goblin." Together with his note, Lee had his picture taken at the "Grim Reaper Tearoom."

Playing as Ji Eun Tak, the high school bride of the goblin, she revealed that the drama was full of many happy memories. Beaming her bright and wonderful smile, the actress then thanked the fans for giving them their unconditional love.

Next in line is the beautiful owner of a fried chicken restaurant, Yoo. In her card, the 34-year old actress thanked the fans for watching "Goblin" and loving her character Sunny.

Lastly, Yook, praised for his role as a member of a chaebol family expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported and loved his character Duk Hwa as he went from a third-generation chaebol to a god. At the end of his note, we can find the words "Thank you. I love you."

The production staff also expressed their gratitude saying that the actors' passion and affection has helped create the greatest production. They also added that the love they have received from their viewers is overwhelming with all the efforts the cast and crew put into the production.
