Fans of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" still got hang-ups days after it concluded on Jan. 11. In fact, a famous line from the come-of-age drama series became the newest meme and even went viral on the internet.

In the premiere episode of the MBC drama series, Nan Hee asked Jung Joon Hyung if he is a fan of Lionel Andrés "Leo" Messi. After the encounter, Nan Hee explained to Kim Bok Joo that asking a guy about the famous soccer player would stir up a man's interest.

After hearing her friend's advice, Kim Bok Joo used the same line to Jung Jae Yi in hopes to capture the attention of the doctor. Yibada reported many were inspired to use the line "Do you like Messi" in conversing with their crushes.

Many netizens have also created memes with the said line. As a result, Messi took the top spot for trending topics in the Philippines a couple of days back.

It appears that fans still have the "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" effect even after it ended. The MBC drama starred Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk who played as a weightlifter and swimmer, respectively.

According to Soompi, the two actors were even emotional after filming the drama's final scene. Nam Joo Hyuk revealed he enjoyed working for "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo."

Meanwhile, Lee Sung Kyung felt grateful for all the good words she is getting for playing as Kim Bok Joo. The actress admitted she has never experienced this kind of love from her previous roles.

She also revealed she was too emotional to even watch the finale of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo." Lee Sung Kyung added it was the second time she cried for a drama series after "It's Okay, That's Love."
