The Detroit Pistons (19-24) host the Atlanta Hawks (24-17) at The Palace of Auburn Hills in a 2016-2017 NBA regular season match on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Atlanta is streaking right now, winning nine of their last 10 matches to hold firm the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference table. They are on a two-game winning run after a close two-point loss to Boston last Friday.

The Hawks are coming off a heart-stopping 108-107 win over the New York Knicks on the road at the Madison Square Garden last Monday, as per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Dennis Schroder buried the winning three-pointer with 22 seconds left to hand the Knicks their second straight defeat. New York had three chances to either tie or win the game, but ultimately failed with a lot of time left.

Schroder also led the Hawks statistically with 28 points, three rebounds, and three assists with Tim Hardaway Jr. backing him up with 20 points, three boards, and four assists.

Paul Millsap had 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals, and three blocks while Kent Bazemore contributed 16 points, six boards, and five assists as the fourth starter in double figures for head coach Mike Budenholzer.

Veteran power forward Kris Humphries chipped in 14 points and seven boards playing 24 minutes as a substitute.

Meanwhile, the Pistons were able to snap a three-game losing slide by pulling off a close 102-97 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night on the road at the Staples Center, Fansided reported.

Tobias Harris was the hero of the match for Detroit as he scored the decisive three-point shot with 30.5 seconds remaining to give his team the win.

Harris and Marcus Morris both scored 23 points and have combined for 16 rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots in the game. Reggie Jackson had 16 points, three boards, and five assists while Andre Drummond contributed a monster double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds with two assists, and three steals.

Prediction 

The Hawks are a good road team this season with a 13-9 slate while the Pistons are decent at home with a 10-9 record. Atlanta is predicted to win this match.
