The Toronto Raptors (27-13) and Brooklyn Nets (8-32) will square off at the Barclays Center on Tuesday, Jan. 17 as the 2016-2017 NBA regular season moves forward.

Toronto is on a three-game winning run after previously losing two straight matches. The team is still in the second spot in the Eastern Conference table, two games behind conference leaders and defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers and one-and-a-half games ahead of third-running team Boston Celtics.

The Raptors are coming off a 116-101 rout of the New York Knicks at their home court of Air Canada Centre on Sunday night, as per the Toronto Star.

DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished off five assists to lead Toronto to the impressive win. DeMarre Carroll added 20 points, two boards, and two steals while Kyle Lowry had 16 points, nine assists, and four rebounds.

Jonas Valanciunas was the third member of head coach Dwane Casey's starting five to score in double figures with a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Off the bench, shooting guard Norman Powell netted 21 markers while Terrence Ross chipped in 12 points.

Meanwhile, the Nets are still reeling with a 10-game losing streak. The team has lost 15 of their last 16 assignments to drop to the cellar of the East.

Brooklyn was thrashed by the Houston Rockets, 137-112, in their most recent game also last Sunday at the Barclays Center, NBC New York reported.

Without stars Brook Lopez and Jeremy Lin, head coach Kenny Atkinson's side was led by Trevor Booker with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Joe Harris and Justin Hamilton fired 12 and 11 points as starters and have combined to produce six rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in between them.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Randy Foye chipped in 14 and 13 points respectively coming off the bench with seven boards from the former.

Prediction

 The Raptors are a deadly road team with a 12-7 away record so far this season while the Nets are poor at home with a 7-14 slate. A big win by Toronto is predicted.
