During their final Seoul concert on Sunday, G-Dragon promised they will continue to promote as BIGBANG and as solo artists when T.O.P leaves to serve his military duties in February.

According to Allkpop, the BIGBANG leader seemed to mean what he told the fans as G-Dragon has been reported to release new music for his comeback as a soloist. Sources said the idol is currently gearing up for his return this year.

An insider revealed G-Dragon is currently producing a new album for his planned comeback. Further reports stated part of his plans is to stage a solo concert after his return, which is reported to be during the first half of 2017.

However, a source affiliated with YG Entertainment clarified the previous reports regarding G-Dragon's comeback.

The source confirmed the BIGBANG member is preparing for his return as a solo artist; however, it said the idol has yet to set a specific date for the comeback, Soompi reported.

"It's true that G-Dragon is currently preparing for a solo album, but there is no confirmed date or any specific plans at the moment, the source revealed.

The planned comeback will be G-Dragon's first in four years after the release of "COUP D'ETAT" in 2013. The release, which was his second full-length album, featured collaborations with several artists including Diplo, Baauer, Boys Noize, Sky Ferriera, Siriusmo, Zion T., Lydia Paek, and Jennie Kim.

G-Dragon also earned four awards at the 15th Mnet Asian Music Awards for his "COUP D'ETAT" album. Aside from that, the idol also won World's Best Entertainer and World's Best Album at the World Music Awards.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG will have their final performance on "Inkigayo" before T.O.P enters the military. Producer Cho Moon Joo said the boy group is planning to perform "Last Dance" for their fans.
