Preview

The Lakers snapped a two-game winning run after they were thrashed by the Portland Trail Blazers, 108-87, right at their home court of Staples Center on Tuesday night, as per the Los Angeles Times.

It was a close fight as Los Angeles led at the half, 57-55. But a 53-30 second half run by Portland turned things around for the Hollywood squad, to which head coach Luke Walton admittedly told reporters after the match that he was "shocked".

"I'm still trying to figure out exactly what happened in the second half," said Walton. "I was shocked."

Luol Deng was the lone double-digit scorer in Walton's starting unit with 14 points, six rebounds, and one steal. Off the bench, rookie Brandon Ingram had 11 points, four boards, two assists, and one block in 26 minutes while Lou Williams chipped in 10 points and one assist in 16 minutes.

D'Angelo Russell had a poor game with only nine points, shooting 4-for-14 from the field and 0-for-7 from beyond the arc. Jordan Clarkson also had nine points on 3-for-9 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Spurs fell to a virtually Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee Bucks, 109-107, also last Tuesday at the AT&T Center, SB Nation reported.

San Antonio surrendered a six-point lead in the last five minutes of the contest with Michael Beasley leading the way. Antetokounmpo played nine scoreless minutes because of an illness.

Kawhi Leonard had 30 points, seven rebounds, two assists, three steals, and three blocks in a losing effort for head coach Gregg Popovich's squad.

Tony Parker, Danny Green, and David Lee, who started in place of LaMarcus Aldridge, scored 14, 14, and 10 respectively. Aldridge was rested by Popovich during the match.

Off the bench, Jonathon Simmons and Davis Bertans fired 14 and 11 points.

Prediction

The Lakers are a poor road team with a 5-16 record so far this season while the Spurs are excellent at home with a 13-5 slate. A huge win by San Antonio is predicted.
