"Happy Endings" alum Eliza Coupe is set to guest star as agent Hannah Wyland in "Quantico" Season 2. She is heading to ABC's thriller drama to return to active duty this new year.

According to TV Line, Coupe will make an appearance in Episode 9 of "Quantico" Season 2, as showrunner Joshua Safran confirms. She is limited to one episode for now, though Safran said that she is welcome back when her schedule allows. The spot comes with the possibility of becoming a series regular.

Coupe's character Wyland in "Quantico" Season 2 is a Federal Bureau Investigation agent whose tenacity and good looks landed her on the career fast-track, Entertainment Weekly reported. But while she is willing to rev up the soap and sex, she is an agent first and foremost with countless notches in her belt.

Coupe appeared in four episodes in "Quantico" Season 1, playing a tough G-woman who was once married to Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin). Though Wyland and Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) did not get along at first, the more experienced FBI agent eventually came to believe that Parrish's suspicions about a terrorist plot were correct. Unfortunately, that solidarity and firing a gun into the air in a room full of freaked-out people eventually helped get Wyland suspended from the Bureau.

Coupe joins the recently announced South African actress Pearl Thusi as a new series regular in "Quantico" Season 2. She plays the lawyer Dayana Mampasi who struggles to fit in. They also join series regulars Aunjane Ellis (Miranda Shaw), Yasmine Al Massri (Nimah Anwar), Johanna Braddy (Shelby Wyatt), and Blair Underwood (Owen Hall).

Most recently, Coupe also appeared on Hulu's "The Mindy Project" as well as "Casual" following the cancellation of her USA comedy "Benched" earlier this year. She is the lead of "Future Man" show on Hulu, even though they have wrapped most of Season 1, so she has to be in Los Angeles and available to that show.

"Quantico" Season 2 will return on a new night on Jan. 23, Monday, and airs at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
