The Washington Wizards (19-18) and Boston Celtics (23-15) will clash in a 2016-2017 NBA regular season encounter on Jan. 11, Wednesday at the TD Garden.

Washington is on a three-game winning run after losing their two previous games. The team is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, only a half-game behind fifth-place squad Indiana Pacers and nine games behind conference leaders Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Wizards are coming off a close 101-99 win over a Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade-less Chicago Bulls at their home floor of Verizon Center on Tuesday night, as per SB Nation.

John Wall was the hero of the game for head coach Scott Brooks' squad as he sank the game-winning jumper with 5.9 seconds remaining in the clock. Wall finished with 26 points on 11-for-21 shooting, six rebounds, and 14 assists in another brilliant performance.

Bradley Beal had 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists playing through a sore ankle while Markieff Morris also added 19 points, four boards, two assists, and three steals.

Otto Porter Jr. contributed 11 points, two boards, two assists, and two steals and Marcin Gortat chipped in a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds as all starters scored in double figures.

Meanwhile, the Celtics snapped a four-game winning run as they succumbed to the Toronto Raptors, 114-106, on the road at the Air Canada Centre also last Tuesday, NESN reported.

Isaiah Thomas again spearheaded Boston with 27 points, one rebound, and seven assists with Marcus Smart, who started in place of the injured Avery Bradley, backing him up with 16 points, four boards, five assists, and four steals. Bradley is still out with an Achilles injury.

Al Horford had 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Gerald Green and Kevin Olynyk came off the bench to fire 14 and 13 points respectively.

Prediction

The Wizards are a poor road team with a 4-12 slate so far this season while the Celtics are excellent at home with an 11-6 record. Boston is predicted to prevail in a close match with Washington.
