Preview

The Knicks are reeling right now with a two-game losing slide. The team has also lost eight of their last nine games to drop to the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, two-and-a-half games behind current eighth-seeded Charlotte Hornets.

New York was routed by the New Orleans Pelicans in their most recent game last Monday at their home court of Madison Square Garden, as per NBC New York.

Brandon Jennings started in place of Derrick Rose and led the squad with 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Rose was not with the team due to a "family issue", according to reports.

Carmelo Anthony had 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting and a 2-for-3 clip from the three-point area as the only other player in double figures. He also had six boards and one assist. Kristaps Porzingis struggled in the game with only nine points on 3-for-13 shooting plus four rebounds, one assist, and two blocks.

Meanwhile, the Sixers are slowly rising with three wins in their last four assignments. With 10 wins so far, the team has already reached their win total from last season. Philadelphia is still out of playoff contention, though, as they are third from the last place in the Eastern Conference at the moment.

The Sixers romped the Brooklyn Nets, 105-95, on the road at the Barclays Center on Sunday night to bounce back from a previous loss to the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia Magazine reported.

Joel Embiid had 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in only 24 minutes of play. Robert Covington backed him up with a double-double of 15 points and 11 boards with five steals while Nik Stauskas also fired 15 points with five rebounds and two assists.

Veteran power forward Ersan Ilyasova was the fourth starter in double figures with 14 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Off the bench, Dario Saric contributed 18 points and five rebounds in 30 minutes of playing time.

Prediction

The Knicks 6-13 on the road so far this season while the Sixers are also poor at home with a 6-14 slate. Philadelphia has the momentum while New York is playing uninspired as of late. A close win for Philly is predicted.
