‘Lucifer’ Season 2 renewal update: Writers tease Season 3 a possibility

The writers for the Fox series recently teased the renewal of "Lucifer" Season 2. If ratings continue to look good for the show, then fans may see "Lucifer" Season 3 happen.

The midseason premiere of "Lucifer" Season 2 has yet to air on Jan. 16, 2017. Yet, fans are already curious to know whether Fox will renew the series for Season 3. Followers asked the show's writers about this possibility and the writers gave a cryptic answer.

"We will get to the renewal later in Season 2!! We still have so much more to come this season!" the writers tweeted.

Likewise, they expressed their interest on the show's renewal. The writers responded to another fan, who said she is excited to see "Lucifer" Season 3 happen.

"Right? Us too... So many plans for the future," the writers further tweeted.

Meanwhile, as fans await the confirmation for "Lucifer" Season 3, they have to tune in first to the midseason premiere of "Lucifer" Season 2. The series returns at its usual timeslot on Monday at 9:00 p.m. with another crime investigation.

According to TV Guide, in "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 11, "Stewardess Interruptus," Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) work on a new case. However, this case is personal for the devil, since it involves two of his former lovers.

Naturally, the case brings tension for both Chloe and Lucifer, according to the synopsis for "Stewardess Interruptus." After all, the pair almost shared an intimate moment in the midseason finale of "Lucifer" Season 2.

To recap, "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 10 ended with a cliffhanger on Chloe and Lucifer about to kiss. Apparently, that kiss does not happen in Episode 11. The synopsis reveals that someone interrupts them.

Elsewhere, "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 11 also reveals Charlotte's (Tricia Helfer) plans to manipulate her son's blossoming romance with Chloe. The trailer below for "Stewardess Interruptus" shows Charlotte trying to play matchmaker for Lucifer and Chloe.

Likewise, "Lucifer" Season 2 episode 11 reveals more details about Chloe's origin. The midseason finale revealed that she is a miracle child. There are speculations that she could be an angel. However, showrunner Ildy Modrovich told TV Line denied that Chloe is a celestial being. Instead, Modrovich revealed that God purposely placed the detective on Lucifer's path and made her immune to his charms.
