EXID’s Solji revealed to be diagnosed with hyperthyroidism

Label agency Banana Culture Entertainment has recently revealed that their talent Solji of the girl group EXID has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.

According to the agency, Solji has immediately undergone to a medical examination after finding out some symptoms of hyperthyroidism in her body. Upon confirming that she is indeed suffering the said ailment, the star was advised to take a rest for her immediate recovery.

"Solji recently showed symptoms, such as fever and protruding eyeballs among other issues. In order to prevent fans from worrying, she underwent a medical examination immediately. The agency continued. In the end, a specialist diagnosed her with hyperthyroidism. For now, she'll focus on rest and treatment,” Banana Culture Entertainment stated as quoted by All KPop.

Because of the situation, EXID will be promoting with only 4 members for a while.

Hyperthyroidism is an autoimmune disorder wherein the thyroid, a small gland located in front of the neck, overproduces hormones. It can cause severe diseases such as stroke and congestive heart failure to the diagnosed persons.

Meanwhile, EXID has recently released the Chinese version of their recent single titled “Cream” online. According to reports, this will be the first time the girls will introduce their music to the said language as a response to the massive demand from the Chinese fans.

Solji made her debut in the entertainment industry in 2006 after joining the ballad vocal duo 2NB alongside Gabin of the girl group Blady. After they disbanded in 2012, the singer became a vocal trainer and later joined EXID at the same year after the departure of its three original members Yuji, Dami, and Haeryeong.

She is also a part of the band’s sub-unit Dasoni together with fellow member Hani. They released their single debut single "Goodbye" in February 2013.
