EXO's Lay, 'Operation Love' producers kicked out during filming of drama?

EXO's Lay and the production team of the Chinese drama "Operation Love" reportedly encountered a production hurdle during the filming of the drama recently. The show's producers have now cleared up the rumors and explained what exactly happened.

There were several reports claiming that Lay as well as the production crew of "Operation Love" were kicked out of a university premises as they did not have the required permission to film inside the institution. The makers of the show have now issued an official statement in the wake of the controversy.

"Recently, we were filming at a store near Sun Yat-sen University, and it started to get crowded," read the statement posted on the official Weibo account of "Operation Love," as cited by All Kpop. "Considering safety issues, we had to talk with the institute and temporarily stop filming. We did not get kicked out."

The producers further pointed out that they had obtained the permission to film on the university premises well ahead of time. They added that the current rumors that are doing the rounds are baseless and false.

"Operation Love" is the Chinese remake of the popular Japanese drama of the same name. The drama also had a Korean adaptation titled "Operation Proposal" and featured Yoo Seung Ho and Park Eun Bin in the lead role, according to Soompi.

Lay stars alongside Chen Duling in the Chinese version of the drama. The actress gained popularity after winning an ulzzang competition as a college student. "Operation Love" started filming last month.

The time-traveling romance follows the story of a man who gets a second chance to go back in time and profess his love to his childhood friend, who is about to marry another man in the present. However, he realizes that altering history and changing the past is a lot harder than he expected.
