"Suicide Squad" star Margot Robbie is in talks to join Sony's classic children's tale "Peter Rabbit" film adaptation. She is on board in the high beta-carotene cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details of Robbie's role are being kept buried in the garden, but it is known that she will voice a bunny. The Australian actress is just starting to broach the world of voice work, with "Peter Rabbit" being only her second such project. Her first voice acting gig is a DreamWorks Animation movie "Larrikins" due out next year.

"The Late Late Show with James Corden" host James Corden is also on board to voice the titular character Peter Rabbit in the new retelling of the classic children's tale "Peter Rabbit" with "Ex Machina" actor Domhall Gleeson (Mr. McGregor) and "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" actress Rose Byrne (Bea which is likely a stand-in for the author) also on board to star. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" actress Daisy Ridley and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." actress Elizabeth Debicki are round out the cast, Variety reported.

Columbia and Frederick Warne are bringing Beatrix Potter's beloved character Peter Rabbit to a new family audience. Warne has been Potter's publisher since its printing of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" in 1902 and is home to the Peter Rabbit and Potter brands.

"Peter Rabbit" is being described as a modern interpretation of Potter's works. It centers on the rivalry between mischievous young hopper Peter Rabbit and a man Mr. McGregor, trying to keep a rabbit-free garden.

"Peter Rabbit" is the live-action/animated CG hybrid from a script co-written by Rob Lieber and director Will Gluck. It will be made at Animal Logic, which is the Sydney-based animation and visual effects production studio behind "The Lego Movie" starred Chris Pratt and Will Ferrell.

Gluck and Zareh Nalbandian of Animal Logic Entertainment are both attached to produce "Peter Rabbit," with Doug Belgrad serving as executive producer through his 2.0 Entertainment banner. Jodi Hildebrand of Olive Bridge and Jason Lust will serve as executive producers.

Robbie had a busy 2016 with three major movies released: "Suicide Squad," "The Legend of Tarzan," and "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot." She just wrapped production on "Goodby Christopher Robin." She is repped by CAA, Management 360, and Jackoway Tyerman.
