'The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series' Season 3 debuts Dec. 20; Pre-order comes with bonus copies for free

The wait is almost over for players to once again get in the shoes of Clementine and her adventures in "The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series," as Season three of this episodic thriller will be released on Dec. 20. Titled "A New Frontier", this epic game series which comprises of five episodes will debut on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, iOS and Android.

Episode one will be available for digital purchase for $4.99 on the said date. However, Telltale also disclosed that a physical version of "A New Frontier" will be released on Feb. 7, 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One, including a Season Pass disc encompassing the first episode and a code to access the rest of the four episodes as soon as they are launched. The disc will be available for $29.99, but can currently be pre-ordered with bonus copies of Season two and "The Walking Dead: Michonne" for free; Steam customers will receive a 10 percent discount.

Details of the story are not yet fully revealed; nevertheless, Telltale announced that a special extended first look on the premiere episode will be showcased live on stage at The Game Awards on Dec. 1, as reported by GameSpot. The advertisement comes with the series description, which reads, "When family is all you have left... how far will you go to protect it?", depicting the different civilizations emerging from the chaos brought by the "undead hands".

Season three will once again feature Clementine and a new character named Javier, described as "a young man determined to find the family taken from him". During an exclusive reveal with IGN Live at E3, Telltale Games' Head of Creative Communications, Job Stauffer, explained how Javier is central to this story, and how he and Clementine have a lot in common, particularly their enemies. Laura Perusco, the Creative Communications Manager, also added, "This is very much a new story as much as it is a continuation."

"A New Frontier" was confirmed by Telltale Games on July 26, 2014 during the San Diego Comic-con. This is the third installment of the Telltale series following Season one in 2012 and Season two in 2013. Watch its reveal trailer here.
