Following the release of her newest single "11:11," netizens can't help but notice something on Taeyeon's face, particularly her lips.

According to Allkpop, netizens are speculating the Girls' Generation member has undergone a surgical procedure to enhance her lips. Reports suggested there is a plastic surgery called "smile lift" that re-aligns the lower and upper lips to achieve an "upturned-lip" look.

While many netizens continue to question Taeyeon about her alleged "smile lift" surgery, other fans came to rescue their idol from malicious rumors. A commenter posted, "She is beautiful. It doesn't matter what she does. People are so quick to judge others and it's sad."

Some fans also asked the netizens to stop assuming things about K-pop idols. "You should look at the right pictures before assuming any kind of "work" an idol has done to their physical appearances. Don't just blatantly assume false rumors," a netizen posted.

Taeyeon dropped her latest single "11:11" on Nov. 1 at 11:00 pm. Prior to the release, the Girls' Generation member reportedly surprised her fans when she announced about her new single on Oct. 28, Soompi reported.

Reports claimed the lyrics of the song was written by Kim Eana. Taeyeon's "11:11" is a ballad track with a combination of acoustic sound and soothing melody.

The Girls' Generation leader made her debut as a solo artist with the release of an EP titled "I" in 2015. The release was an instant hit in South Korea, garnering the No. 2 spot for Gaon Album Chart.

In June 2016, Taeyeon released her second EP called "Why," which surpassed 100,000 pre-orders and ranked on the Billboard World Albums chart. In the same year, she held her first-ever nationwide concert as a solo artist at the Olympic Park, drawing over 6,000 concertgoers.
