Doctor Stephen Strange is not the only Marvel character that Benedict Cumberbatch played in "Doctor Strange."

The British actor reportedly performed another character in the film. Aside from the titular character, director Scott Derickson let it slip that Cumberbatch did a facial capture for CGI character, Dread Dormammu, Screen Rant.

Speaking about bringing the CG character to life, Derrickson said, "The voice was a British actor whose name I don't know, and Benedict - Benedict did the facial capture for it," IGN reported.

He went to say that it was actually Cumberbatch's idea. Derrickson opined that no other actor understood Dormammu that way Cumberbatch did and said that the role was actually written to be an inflated version of the title character.

"The more I thought about it the more I liked the idea because no one understood Dormammu better than Benedict did. I also wrote that role to be a kind of ultra-inflated version of Strange. He is an ego run amok; he is this cosmic conqueror where everything, where literally everything in the multiverse is about him," he explained.

In the comic books, the Dormammu is a mystical identity that was prominently featured in "Doctor Strange." The character was established as the ruler of an alternate dimension and a recurring adversary of the Sorcerer Supreme.

This is not the first time that Cumberbatch played a CG character. He also played the villainous dragon Smaug in "The Hobbit" trilogy. Another villain appearing in the film is Mads Mikkelsen's Kaecilius.

"Doctor Strange" is slated for worldwide release on November 4, 2016.
