In the midst of anticipation for the upcoming "Fifty Shades Darker," rumors started to surface that the stars of the erotic film, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, are having a secret affair.

Rumor has it that the "Fifty Shades Darker" stars plan to announce their relationship on the premiere night of their upcoming movie, which is slated to hit the theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.

However, critics slammed the controversy and said the rumors are part of the publicity stunt to promote their onscreen team-up. Not to mention, the "Fifty Shades Darker" actor is currently married to Amelia Warner with two kids.

There are also rumors claiming that Dornan has bought a new house to share it with his "Fifty Shades Darker" co-star. Still, all these speculations remained unconfirmed from both parties who refused to address the secret affair rumors.

Meanwhile, Dornan, in his recent interview with Metro, said people often recognize him as Christian Grey and not Jamie Dornan. The "Fifty Shades Darker" star even shared a funny experience where a fast food crew told him of his resemblance with the character.

"The girl working there looked at me and said, "Oh my god! You must get this all the time - you're the spit of Christian Grey from those "Fifty Shades' movies!" I wouldn't normally have done it but it was late, she was serving burgers, so I said, "Yes, yes, it is me - I'm the actor from those films,"" Dornan narrated.

He continued, "She looked at me like I was crazy, pulling her leg. I showed her ID but she hadn't a clue who Jamie Dornan was. She just wasn't having it! That keeps things real."

On the other hand, the "Fifty Shades Darker" trailer became the most-watched trailer with over 114 million views within 24 hours, People reported. The James Foley movie surpassed "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" that was viewed 112 million times in 24 hours.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is the second movie in the "Fifty Shades" series based on a E. L. James novel of the same title. The sequel will pick up the story of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel, and how they will rekindle their relationship after the latter left the former in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
