Fans of the model-turned actor Lee Jong Suk has launched a donation campaign to commemorate the actor's 28th birthday. Anyone who wish to participate could simply deposit the money in the fan-made bank account.

On Sept. 14, Lee marked his 28th birthday and his fans have donated 9,140 KRW ($8.11 USD) each through a special donation project in celebration of the actor's birthday. Lee personally checked-out the fan-made bank account and deposited 9,140,000 KRW ($8,110 USD) himself for the project, AllKpop reported. The collected money will be donated to help children with cancer.

Imagine his fans reaction when they learned that the actor participated in their campaign. With his extraordinary gesture, Lee has earned the nickname "giving angel" and was constantly complimented by his fans.

It is worth nothing that previously, Lee donated 200 million KRW ($177,472 USD) to The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Korea. UNICEF Korea is an agency under United Nations (UN) which provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers all over the world.

When asked about the large amount of money he donated to the organization, Lee replied, "I want to return the huge love that I have received from all of my fans. Even from now on, I won't forget my decision to help out and be with the people in need," Korea boo reported.

Half of the donated money was used to improve the destitute school condition in the mountainous regions in China. While the other 100 million KRW ($88,736 USD) was spent to build shelters for the children of overseas Koreans, migrant workers and women.

This is not the first time for the 28-year old actor to participate in charitable acts. We can recall that last January, Lee participated in a photo shoot event to support UNICEF in its collaboration with Line. The sales proceeds of the project "LINE X UNICEF Brown edition" was donated to UNICEF Korea.
