South Korean record label Cube Entertainment finally speak up about the rumored participation of singer-actor Sungjae of the boy group BTOB in the upcoming TV drama series “Goblin”.

According to the agency, it is true that Sungjae has been offered a role in the show. However, the Korean idol is still considering the project as he still has existing commitments with BTOB.

"It's true that we've met with the 'Goblin' team and are looking into it positively. However, we are looking at a number of different projects alongside 'Goblin', with overseas schedules causing a few setbacks,” Cube Entertainment said as quoted by All Kpop.

The agency added: “We're in a situation where we have to adjust schedules for 'Goblin' with BTOB's current Japanese promotions, and there's no chance that we can push back these overseas schedules. We're not in stages where we can say he's been confirmed."

Born as Yook Sungjae, the star started his career in the entertainment platform when he joined BTOB in 2012. Aside from performing with the group, he also starred in dramas “Plus Nine Boys”, “Who Are You: School 2015” and “The Village: Achiara’s Secret”.

Written by “Descendant of the Sun” writer Kim Eun Sook, “Goblin” unfolds the story of Dokkaebi, a goblin who is in need of a bride to conclude his mortal life and an Angel of Death who is suffering amnesia. The two otherworld creatures met along the way and are bounded to some adventures together.

Actors Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, and Lee Dong Wook were among the confirmed cast members of the drama series, Soompi reports. Other artists are set to be announced as the show’s casting is still underway.

Goblin will be aired in tVn on December this year. It is set to replace the upcoming drama “K2” which will be aired on September.
