"The Flash" has added "Fargo" actress Joey King to guest in Season 3 as a meta-human. Meanwhile, executive producer Marc Guggenheim weighed-in on the potential return of the Black Flash in future installments.

According to Comic Book, King has been tapped to play DC's Magenta on "The Flash" Season 3. Also known as Frances "Frankie" Kane, King's character is a meta-human known for her ability to control metal. However, her powers come with a dangerous side-effect of triggering her villainous alter ego to emerge.

In the comics, Magenta (created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez) debuted in 1982's issue of The New Teen Titans. She is usually compared to X-Men's Magneto because of their similarities on names and super powers. On "The Flash" Season 3, the character will first appear in episode 3, slated to air in October.

King's casting on "The Flash" Season 3 comes after the news that a female version of The Top is also headed to Central City this season. The producers of the show have tapped "Awkward" actress Ashley Rickards to play the DC villain - who also goes by the name of Rosalind Dillon. She is set to appear in episode 4.

In other developments, executive producer Marc Guggenheim offered a new update about the Black Flash's potential return on "The Flash." In a report from Entertainment Weekly, Guggenheim confirmed that fans will be seeing the character in the future. Viewers have yet to tune-in to find out if the character will resurface in Season 3 or beyond.

"We love working with Teddy [Sears]. He's such an amazing actor and amazing person, and was so much a part of the success of this show last season," Guggenheim said.

"There aren't any immediate plans for that, but you can't keep a good Black Flash down."

"The Flash" Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8PM on the CW.
