It was rumored that Adele will be performing at the National Football League Superbowl halftime show. She confirmed that she was requested to do it but humbly declined.

"First of all, I'm not doing the Super Bowl," Adele told an audience during a show, via Variety.com. "I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don't really - I can't dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no."

The Grammy awardee was the National Football League's No. 1 choice performer to present in the Superbowl 51st game to be held at the NRG Stadium in Houston.

Adele refuted the rumors of not performing in the prestigious game, which is a very good opportunity for artists and musicians. The British singer said she is not pregnant, she just can't dance. Also, she has many bookings and will not be available to perform at the game's halftime.

Super Bowl halftime had been one of the most sought-after gigs for artists and musicians, provided with the enormous exposure. Ultimately, NFL distinguished it.

According to the "Hello" singer, her pregnancy is just hearsay and that she considers announcing it at the Super Bowl halftime show, as reported by Slate.

Before the performance was done pro bono, however, it was reported in 2014 that NFL has asked Katy Perry to "chip in a part of their post-income" from their Super Bowl tour or "provide some other means of financial contribution" when she performed at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime. The same thing happened to Rihanna and Coldplay after their acts in the Super Bowl 50, according to Pro Football Talk.

The response from the performance reported seems bleak, but NFL nonetheless, has a suggestive amount of bargaining prowess. This ability allows the league to get as much as it wants.

The 51st Super Bowl will take place on Feb. 5 of next year in Houston. Adele at that time has her own show to perform. At the moment, there is no reported performer to replace her.
