Actress and Producer Michelle Yeoh recently pointed out that the world of cinema could make and produce more promising movies if its audience gets involved.

In her recent interview with Chanel NewsAsia, Yeoh highlighted the important role of the audience in pushing what kind of movies would hit the theaters moving forward. The public should support movies and divulge what they want. "Show us you love these movies and we can actually have an opportunity to make more movies like this," Yeoh cited.

Yeoh also mentioned that kids should not be the only folks who are expected to appreciate movies but the grownups too. Adults should spare more time watching movies. After all, these movies are for everyone.

Moviegoer demographics are always interesting and has been evolving. A recent survey from China Connect showed the age distribution of Chinese moviegoers. People aged 19 to 24 and 25 to 30 were frequent moviegoers. On the other hand, people aged 36 and above appeared to be not fond of movies. This survey could explain and support Yeoh's remarks.

This internationally acclaimed actress recently became a recipient of the inaugural Cinema Legend Award presented by Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF). Getting this award acknowledged Yeoh's talent and achievement as one of the outstanding artists who brought the Asian story to the limelight. Yeoh did exclusive discussions and talks during her visit which had encouraged aspiring actors.

Yeoh could be the best ambassador of the movie industry in Asia. As an international actress and an Asian superstar, the public should look up to her and listen to her appeal.
