Hayley Atwell: Don’t count out 'Agent Carter' just yet

Hayley Atwell hinted in some interviews that not all is lost for "Agent Carter," and that Marvel is doing everything it could to find the show a new home after it encountered challenges securing a primetime spot in the ABC network.

Attending the recent Denver Con over the weekend, Atwell implied in panel interviews that Marvel is still doing its best to secure a new outlet for the show. Options for the show have by no means run out, with Hulu and Amazon Prime being touted as possible outlets Marvel can explore. Netflix may also be a logical choice, given that Marvel has a standing relationship with the streaming movies and TV show giant. Marvel has collaborated with Netflix successfully in "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones," and will now partner in the "Luke Cage" series.

Marvel had a very hard time in securing a slot for the show, with negotiations hindered by multiple cited reasons, such as the State of the Nation address of President Obama as well as efforts to find a suitable schedule for the show. Reports however point to the low ratings of the show that led to ABC to decide on cancelling the series.

Fans of the show, however, have rallied in support of "Agent Carter" taking to Twitter with hashtags such as #RenewAgentCarter and #SaveAgentCarter. There was even a petition started which has already garnered more than 122,000 signatures to date. Fans have been left wanting for more after it ended its season two run on March, especially with its cliffhanger ending.
