Japanese Version of hit South Korean Drama ‘Misaeng’ Announces Cast

(Photo : YouTube/varietyrange27) Nakajima Yuto will appear in the Japanese remake of South Korean drama "Misaeng."

FUJI TV, the network that will host the Japanese version of the hit South Korean Drama Misaeng, has announced the members of the cast who will be headlining the remake.

The TV series Misaeng, which premiered in 2014, is based on a webtoon series with the same name by Yoon Tae-Ho. The drama was a hit because it portrayed the different realities of being in a corporate world.

It garnered high ratings, with its finale episode reaching 10.3 percent, the second highest rating in South Korea's cable TV history.

The Japanese version of the show has the working title Hope ~ Kitai Zero no Shinnyuu Shain ~ (HOPE ~ Zero Expectations for New Employee ~) and will be featuring singer Nakajima Yuto of Hey! Say! JUMP.

This will be Yuto's first time starring in a primetime drama, which will premiere on July 3.

The other cast members in the upcoming show include Seto Koji of Kamen Rider Kiva, Kiriyama Akito of the music group Johnny's West, and model Yamamoto Mizuki, best known for the drama Shiawase ni Naroyo. The director of the series would be Kono Keita, the director of Kasa wo Motanai Aritachi wa and Lost Days.

Yuto plays the role of Ichinose Ayumu, whose goal was to become a professional Go player. Unfortunately, he passed the age limit and now works as an intern in a trading company.

He struggles to keep up with his work and is blasted by the people in the company due to his lack of skills and knowledge.

Kenichi will play the role of Ayumu's boss, while Koji and Akito will serve as Ayumu's rivals at work. Mizuki will play the only female employee in Ayumu's department. She will fight against harassment and discrimination.

The TV series is currently in production.
