Hallyu star Gong Yoo expressed his appreciation to actor and C-pop star Tony Leung Chiu in a press conference for his weekend get together with his fans in Hong Kong.
Gong revealed that he has great respect for Wai’s acting skills that he also wanted to try out one of his portrayed roles in his future projects. Aside from disclosing his adoration to one of Hong Kong’s most successful and widely acclaimed actor, the artist also shared that he grew up watching Chow Yun Fat and Andy Lau's works which include the 2002 award-winning crime-thriller film “Internal Affairs” wherein Wai was among the lead stars alongside Anthony Wong, Eric Tsang, Chapman To, Gordon Lam, Kelly Chen, and many others.
"I like Tony Leung Chiu Wai, so I think I'd also like to try out roles he'sn done. I have respect for Tony Leung Chiu Wai's acting," said Gong as quoted by All Kpop.
The actor was also asked if he would consider taking a suggestive role similar to Wai’s inviting character in the 2007 erotic film “Lust, Caution”. As a response, Gong stated: "I've received this same question in Korea before, where they asked me if I wanted to try a film like 'Lust, Caution'. I think that if a production's overall message or mood is good, something like revealing scenes will not hinder it.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old star revealed during the fan meeting event that he is not planning to have a long break although he found that filming a drama could be very tiring. He also added that he might be working on a film for his next acting project and promised his fans that he will choose a good project immediately, Soompi reports.
