'Big Bang Theory' actress Melissa Rauch will voice Harley Quinn in the DC Comics animated movie 'Batman and Harley Quinn'

Warner Brothers announced on Monday, April 3 that "Big Bang Theory" actress Melissa Rauch will become the voice of Harley Quinn in the upcoming animated movie from DC Comics "Batman and Harley Quinn." She will join Kevin Conroy who reprise his role from "Batman: The Animated Series."

The news about Rauch joining the cast member of the "Batman and Harley Quinn" was first reported by Empire on Monday, following the announcement from Warner Brothers. She joins Conroy who reprise his acting voice as Batman in the DC Comics animated features. Conroy has been the voice of Batman since "Batman: The Animated Series" in the early 1990's, followed by animated film "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" in 1993. Up to now, Conroy has voiced Batman for 25 years.

"I love that Harley is a badass and, beyond that, that she uses her humor as another weapon in her arsenal," Rauch said, expressing her excitement to join the cast of "Batman and Harley Quinn." Her role is the villain who later becoming a crime fighter and joining Batman to stop the evil plot from Poison Ivy.

Along with Conroy, Loren Lester will also reprise his role as Nightwing aka Robin, as reported by Collider. Actress who played as agent Emily Prentiss in "Criminal Minds" Paget Brewster will voice Poison Ivy. Other notable voice character in "Batman and Harley Quinn" movie is the "Adventure Time" actor John DiMaggio as Alec Holland.

The movie "Batman and Harley Quinn" will be released this summer as a direct-to-video movie. Fans can access and watch the movie via Blu-ray and DVD, along with the digital download.

Rauch began her acting career in 2006, playing a role of Megan in the movie "Delirious" and Bethany in the TV series "12 Miles of Bad Road" for three episodes. She gained recognition in 2009 as she played Bernadette who dated Howard Wolowitz in the The Big Bang Theory" aired on CBS. "Batman and Harley Quinn" will be her second voice acting role after she played Francine in the 2016 animated movie "Ice Age: Collision Course." Watch the first look of the movie below:
