Just a couple of weeks after his military discharge, Kim Hyun Joong is now facing another controversy for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Around 2 a.m. of March 26, a driver called the police to report a car parked at the traffic light. Apparently, the person behind the wheel was Kim Hyun Joong, who appeared to have passed out while driving.

The authorities had to suspend the actor's license after his blood alcohol level showed at 0.075 percent. On Thursday, KeyEast Entertainment explained the side of their artist and assured to prevent the same incident from happening in the future.

"He hadn't slept for a few days to practice for his concert, and while he didn't even drive 1 kilometer, he was asked to submit to a blood alcohol test and had his driver's license suspended," the label said as per Soompi.

KeyEast Entertainment, however, acknowledged Kim Hyun Joong's fault and guaranteed that the "Boys over Flowers" actor is currently reflecting his wrongdoing.

Despite his current DUI controversy, Kim Hyun Joong plans to carry on with his scheduled fan meeting on April 29. The upcoming event will serve as his comeback show after serving the military for almost two years.

His label confirmed they have no plans of cancelling the upcoming event which is expected to gather 4,000 fans at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park. Meanwhile, CCTV footage of Kim Hyun Joong's drunk driving incident was retrieved by Channel A on Friday.

Contrary to the initial statement of KeyEast Entertainment, the actor reportedly drove about 3 kilometers before he passed out while waiting for the green light. Allkpop cited Kim Hyung Joong's car stayed in the same post for 15 minutes before the police awakened him.

Following the release of the CTTV footage, his label clarified they did not intend to cover up Kim Hyun Joong's offense. KeyEast Entertainment added they only relayed the information presented to them.
