Crunchyroll announced that they will be airing episodes of Boruto: Naruto Next Generation starting next Thursday, April 5. The anime streaming company confirmed on its news page last week.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generation is basically a follow-up or sequel to the shounen anime hit Naruto, which was concluded last March 23. Instead of the original protagonist Naruto, the show will focus on the adventure of the new crop of Hidden Leaf shinobis led by Boruto - the son of the 7th Hokage Naruto.

Boruto - Naruto Next Generation Synopsis:

The Hidden Leaf Village has entered an era of peace and modernity. Tall buildings line the streets, giant screens flash with images, and the Thunder Rail runs through the village, connecting each district together. Though it's still a ninja village, the number of civilians has increased and the life of the shinobi is beginning to change.

Boruto Uzumaki, son of Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, has enrolled in the Ninja Academy to learn the ways of the ninja. The other students are ready to dismiss him as "just the son of the Hokage," but Boruto's heart and character blow all their assumptions away.

As a series of mysterious events begins to unfold, it's up to Boruto and his new friends to handle them. Like a gale-force wind, Boruto makes his own way into everyone's hearts; his story is about to begin!

With the worldwide success of the Naruto series, Boruto - Naruto Next Generation faces massive expectations from fans and critics alike. It was then announced that Ukyō Kodach will be teaming up with co-directors Noriyuki Abe and Hiroyuki Yamashita, while Makoto Uezu will provide composition for the series produced by Studio Pierrot.

The Boruto manga series is still on-going. Masashi Kishimoto's protégé Mikeo Ikomoto, who served as the lead illustrator for the project, has done a solid job in telling the story of transition from the age of Naruto to the new age.
