Godzilla has been featured in movies and animated series for more than six decades. But it's recent resurgence will soon interpret the iconic movie monster in another format - a full featured anime movie.

Godzilla Movie Trilogy Confirmed

According to Polygon, Godzilla will soon grace the small screen as a full length movie in anime format. It's rather surprising that the iconic Japanese character has never been featured in anime since appearing in its full length film six decades ago. But thanks to its popularity and hype, the anime adaptation is coming soon.

The upcoming film is going to be streamed in Netflix and it's not going to be a standalone film. Netflix is planning to offer Godzilla as a trilogy - offering a wide variety of stories for fans of the monster to enjoy.

For those concerned about the anime adaptation, the upcoming trilogy will be helmed by some of the best in the industry. The directors of the adaptation have worked on "Detective Conan" and its creative staff have been part of the popular titles such as "Attack on Titan."

Sci-fi Plot for the Giant Monster

While the movies and cartoon adaptation of Godzilla focuses on the monster attacks in the city, the anime format offers some significant leeway on how the story are told. For the upcoming film, Netflix has definitely flexed its muscles on how the story could be told.

According to Anime News Network, the film will be set in the future - (spoiler warning) Godzilla and other kaijus are battling for supremacy on Earth and humans have no choice but to leave for another plant. But their new planet is actually not fit for human civilization so they have to come back and face Godzilla who has ruled the Earth.

The movie tackle more than just facing a monster. From crisis in civilization to travel in light speed, the upcoming monster animated film from Netflix will be more than just Godzilla.
