No matter how hard he tried to deny rumors about his sexuality, it seems like netizens won't leave Heechul alone. Nonetheless, the Super Junior member is almost always ready to reiterate the truth about his preference.
According to Soompi, the idol will appear on the Mar. 16 episode of "Happy Together" to address gay rumors yet again. In the preview, Heechul admitted he is being misunderstood for his closeness towards girl idols.
It is not unknown that the Super Junior member is friends with some of the most popular actresses and idols in the industry. Hence, netizens could not help but question his sexual orientation.
But on "Happy Together," Heechul shared he "[does] not comfortably approach women that [he's] am interested in."
In his previous interviews, the 33-year-old idol underlined that he is interested in women. However, his statements might have fallen on deaf ears as the rumors continue to follow Heechul until now.
Despite being bombarded with the same issue over and over again, the Super Junior member is still cautious when addressing the controversy. Allkpop cited Heechul does not want to offend those who belong in LGBTQ community.
"I realized that if I say I'm not and vehemently deny it, it's rude and hurtful to people who are actually gay. It's just a matter of preference, and it's just that everyone is different with different values," he said.
The idol also shared how he figured out that he has been making headlines for gay rumors. Heechul said an online article reached Super Junior's group chat with their managers.
"I was thinking, "Who is this?" while reading it, and it turned out it was me at the end. The members and I laughed a lot about it," Heechul narrated.
The Super Junior member also revealed it was his decision to remain silence and let the rumors die down.
Catch his episode on "Happy Together" at 11:10 p.m. on KBS 2TV.
