Point guard Brandon Jennings has signed with the Washington Wizard after New York Knicks waived him. He will be an important piece to increase the depth of the Wizards’ roster.

Washington Wizards will have to clear its roster spot to 15 players to accommodate Jennings, according to Washington Post. One potential candidate to be waived is rookie Danuel House Jr., which injured his wrist and was unable to play this season. House will be transferred to the affiliate team in NBA Development League, Delaware 87ers.

Wizards main point guard John Wall has been expecting the 27-year-old player to join the team. He praised Jennings as the player who can help the team with his ball distribution. Wall said, “He just brings a lot of energy. He’s a guy that can pass the ball.”

The seven-year-veteran in the NBA will be an important player in Washington. He will add playmaking and scoring to the Wizards behind Wall. His arrival will put Trey Burke to become the third option in the point guard position, Sports Illustrated reported.

Jennings was waived by the Knicks on Monday, Feb. 27 to make way for the younger point guard Chasson Randle. He was the reserved point guard for Derrick Rose in New York Knicks. It doesn’t take long for him to get a new team, as only within a couple days after he was waived, he has already with the new team.

His journey in the NBA began in 2009 after playing one year in the Euroleague. He chose to skip college after graduated from high school and went to play overseas, instead. When he returned to the U.S. and declared his eligibility to join the NBA, he was drafted by Milwaukee Bucks as the 10th overall picks in 2009 NBA Draft.

In his seven years in the NBA, he averages 14.8 points and 5.8 assists per game, shooting 39 percent in the field goals. Watch his performance in the game against Brooklyn Nets on Oct 20, 2016 below:
