Korean remake of "Criminal Minds" is eyeing to cast "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" actor Lee Joon Gi and "Good Doctor" actress Moon Chae Won. However, an insider revealed that the two actors have yet to decide about the matter.
Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won, who are label mates under Namoo Actors, were reportedly offered to take part in the Korean remake of CBS show "Criminal Minds." The upcoming drama is said to be in its pre-production period, eyeing to complete the casting before fall.
On Thursday, a source affiliated with Namoo Actors said nothing has been confirmed from their two artists. "Actors Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won are currently looking into the Korean remake of "Criminal Minds,"" the insider said as per Allkpop.
"Criminal Minds" follows the story of an FBI team in their quest to solve murder cases. The long-running CBS show mustered 13 million viewers since it started in 2005; hence, the drama got renewed for another season last year.
In hopes to increase these figures, two major Korean entertainment networks will work together for "Criminal Minds" remake. DramaFever cited these two companies will introduce the American-style format in this long-term collaboration.
Not only that, the two Korean entertainment companies will seek the assistance of ABC Studios and Disney Media Distribution for the remake of "Criminal Minds."
The upcoming remake received mixed response from local and foreign followers of the crime series. Most of them are just hopeful that the Korean adaptation will give justice to the story of "Criminal Minds."
Meanwhile, others argued about the casting although nothing has been confirmed as of the moment. A netizen said, "Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won would make a great pair," while another one suggested, "How about Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won? It's the best pair ever!"
