'Final Fantasy XIV' introduces new Samurai class: Square Enix announced the release date of the Stormblood expansion

(Photo : Aether Chronicles - YouTube) The new class included in the upcoming "Final Fantasy XIV" Stormblood has been introduced. Square Enix revealed the Samurai as a new job with no base class.

The "Final Fantasy XIV" Stormblood expansion is about to come in the late first-half of 2017. The Square Enix finally revealed the new second job included in the forthcoming expansion, known to be the Samurai.

The GameSpot confirmed that the Square Enix has announced the other half of the 2 upcoming job of the "Final Fantasy XIV" online game. The Stormblood expansion will feature the Samurai, a new DPS-type of character that uses Katana blades.

As the report shows, the Samurai will not be associated with any existing characters, this means it is a standalone character, which can be unlocked is reported to start at level 50 upon creation of the Samurai class. Since it's not confirmed yet the starting level may still change once officially announce by the Square Enix.

The new Samurai is a damage-dealer class favoring most of the STR gears known to be a frontliner in a massive battle. Samurai class resembles the famous character from the Final Fantasy X named Auron.

Along with the two new classes, there will be several additions to the game. The game will now increase its cap level up to 70, extending the adventure and fun throughout the game world.

Aside from the features mentioned above, PC GameN confirmed that six new zones will be added as well. Flying, swimming and diving will also be featured in the Stormblood expansion for a new navigation mechanics. New dungeons are also introduced, namely The Yanaxia and the new Azim Steppe, which are both known to be a good gear-farming locations.

Square Enix and the team who made the "Final Fantasy XIV" Stormblood expansion is rumored to be working on a revised version of the Blitzball. Blitzball was first seen in the Final Fantasy X in which the game is played similar to a football, the difference is, Blitzball is played under the water.

The Samurai will also be joining the Red Mage, the first revealed class that will be featured in the "Final Fantasy XIV" Stormblood expansion. The Stormblood is confirmed to hit the market this June 20th and will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The PlayStation 3 version is reportedly about to end soon.
