"Sister's Slam Dunk" has new cast lineup after season 1 ended in December 2016. The cast members of the variety show were revealed via video teaser that was released last week. It presented an interesting ensemble of all-female celebrities from singers to actresses.

Only two of the original members from "Sister's Slam Dunk" Season 1 were retained and they are comedienne Kim Sook and model Hong Jin Kyung. The added members are former 2NE1's Gong Minzy, trot singer Honh Jin Young, actresses Han Chae Young and Kang Ye Won and I.O.I's Jeon So-mi.

Explaining on what he wanted to show in the upcoming "Sister's Slam Dunk" Season 2, Yonhap News Agency quoted director Park In Seok as saying, "Since season 1, I wanted to make a documentary on what its like to live as a girl group member in South Korea." He added, "The more we showed the behind-the-scenes story of female stars in the first season, the more I became curious and that entire world seemed very different."

Although it was unlikely, the concept of the show became a hit with viewers. In fact, when "Sister's Slam Dunk" Season 2 premiered on Feb. 10, it acquired 5.4 percent viewership ratings based on data gathered by Nielsen Korea.

The percentage was slightly higher compared to the first episode of season 1 and it also recorded to be the highest since August 2016. According to Kpop Herald, with the show's rating, it topped the race for the show with most viewers on its time slot. This means that it also beat its competitor "My Ugly Duckling" from SBS Network.

Season 2 is focusing on the process of training and debuting an idol group. In this regard, director Park thinks that this is a good project not only for the singers but also for the actresses who do not have any experience in variety shows and stage performances.

The director further said that viewers can expect more in "Sister's Slam Dunk" Season 2 because they will not just stick to what they already showed in the first season. The second chapter will dig deeper and show the audience things that were not touched on season 1 yet.

"Sister's Slam Dunk" Season 2 airs every Friday on KBS 2TV at 11:10 p.m. KST.
