Preview

Memphis has won five of their last seven matches to remain in the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings, one-and-a-half games behind fifth-running team Utah Jazz and one-and-a-half games ahead of seventh-place squad Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Grizzlies extended their winning run to three games after demolishing the Denver Nuggets, 119-99, in their most recent game last Wednesday on the road at the Pepsi Center, as per Yahoo Sports.

Marc Gasol led head coach David Fizdale's squad with 24 points, five rebounds, and three assists while Mike Conley added 18 points, four boards, and five assists.

Three bench players scored in double figures for the Grizzlies, namely Zach Randolph, Vince Carter, and James Ennis who had 14, 14, and 13 points respectively. Randolph also had five rebounds and two assists, Carter had five boards and six assists, while Ennis chipped in six rebounds and blocked shot as well.

Meanwhile, the Thunder is reeling at the moment with three consecutive defeats after going on a three-game winning run. OKC still holds the seventh seed in the West, though, six games in front of eighth-seeded team Portland Trail Blazers.

Oklahoma City was routed by the Chicago Bulls, 128-100, on their own home floor of Chesapeake Energy Arena also on Wednesday night, SB Nation reported.

Russell Westbrook had 28 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in a valiant effort for head coach Billy Donovan's side. Victor Oladipo backed him up with 12 points and five boards, but no other starter scored in double digits for the Thunder.

Small forward Jerami Grant came off the bench and added 15 points on 5-for-8 field goal shooting in 20 minutes for OKC.

Prediction

The Grizzlies are 14-12 in away games so far this season while the Thunder is 16-7 at home. While OKC is a great home team, they are struggling right now and so a close win for Memphis is predicted.
